Delhi to Nashik, Mumbai and Goa: A 10 Day Spiritual, Heritage and Beach Circuit

Private Taj Mahal Tour from Delhi

Tour Overview

Ten days is just enough time to feel like you have covered three completely different Indias. This Mumbai to Goa Tour Package starts in Delhi and threads together the temple town of Nashik, the relentless energy of Mumbai, and the beaches of Goa, moving by private car or overnight train so the travel itself never feels like a chore. Expect ancient shrines one day and sand between your toes a few days later. It works well for pretty much anyone, families, couples on a getaway, solo photographers chasing golden hour, older travellers who want comfort over rush, and the adventure crowd looking for waterfalls and water sports along the way.

Duration: 10 Days / 9 Nights

Route: Delhi → Nashik → Trimbakeshwar → Mumbai → Goa → Delhi

What This Trip Offers:

  • A proper pilgrimage stretch through Nashik
  • Colonial and cultural landmarks in Mumbai
  • Beach time in both North and South Goa
  • A waterfall trek for the adventurous
  • Plenty of local food along the route

Ideal Season: October through March, when the weather cooperates almost everywhere on this route.

Day 1: Delhi to Nashik

You have two ways to start this. Option one: hop an overnight train straight to Nashik Road and wake up already there. Option two, drive it yourself through Jaipur, Udaipur and Vadodara before rolling into Nashik, a route only worth picking if long hours on the road genuinely appeal to you, with overnight stops built in wherever needed. Either way, the landscape keeps shifting outside your window, and there is no shortage of roadside food stalls worth stopping for. Overnight: Train or en route

Day 2: Nashik Temple and Heritage Circuit

Your driver picks you up on arrival and gets you settled into the hotel first. Then it is straight into Nashik's spiritual core.

  • Trimbakeshwar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and a major draw for Shiva devotees from across the country
  • Brahmagiri Hill, regarded as the birthplace of the Godavari River
  • Kushavarta Kund, the sacred tank marking where that river is said to emerge
  • Panchavati, woven into several key episodes of the Ramayana
  • Sita Gufa, a modest cave shrine tied to the same story
  • Ram Kund, still used today for ritual bathing

Leave the evening open for wandering Nashik's local bazaars. Overnight: Nashik

Day 3: Vineyards, Then On to Mumbai

Nashik doubles as India's unofficial wine country, so if you have the morning free, a vineyard visit is worth squeezing in.

Optional stops:

  • A winery tour with tasting
  • Seasonal fruit farms nearby

From there, it is a four- to five-hour drive into Mumbai. Once you arrive, head straight for Marine Drive, the long curving promenade that hugs the Arabian Sea, followed by the Gateway of India, arguably the city's most recognisable structure. Time it right and you will catch a proper Mumbai sunset over the water. Overnight: Mumbai

Day 4: Exploring Mumbai

A full day built around the city's mix of colonial history and everyday chaos.

  • Elephanta Caves, ancient rock-cut temples devoted to Shiva, reachable only by a short ferry across the harbour
  • Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, a Gothic-era railway station that still functions as one of the busiest in the country
  • Dhobi Ghat, an open-air laundry operation unlike anything you will see elsewhere
  • Haji Ali Dargah, a mosque built on a tiny islet just off the coastline
  • Siddhivinayak Temple, among the most frequented shrines in the city
  • Colaba Causeway, good for an hour or two of browsing and bargaining

Grab some street food while you are out, Mumbai does it better than most cities. Overnight: Mumbai

Day 5: On to Goa

Pick your route here. An overnight train, a long but scenic drive down the Konkan coastline, or a quick domestic flight if time is tight. Whichever you choose, check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day doing absolutely nothing productive on the beach. Overnight: Goa

Day 6: North Goa

North Goa's coastline is where most of the postcard shots come from.

  • Fort Aguada, a centuries-old Portuguese fort with sweeping sea views
  • Candolim Beach
  • Calangute Beach, the busiest strip in the state
  • Baga Beach, known for its shacks and nightlife scene
  • Anjuna Beach, home to the famous flea market
  • Vagator Beach, quieter, backed by red cliffs

Optional water sports:

  • Parasailing
  • Jet skiing
  • Banana boat rides
  • Bumper rides
  • Speedboat rides

Evenings here mean beach shacks, live music, and a night market when one happens to be running. Overnight: Goa

Day 7: South Goa

South Goa trades the party atmosphere for churches and quieter corners.

  • Basilica of Bom Jesus, holding the remains of St. Francis Xavier and recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site
  • Sé Cathedral, one of the biggest churches anywhere in Asia
  • Shri Mangueshi Temple, a well-known Shiva shrine
  • Shri Shantadurga Temple, notable for its distinctly Goan architectural style
  • Miramar Beach
  • Dona Paula Viewpoint, where two rivers meet the sea

Optional add-on: a sunset cruise along the Mandovi River. Overnight: Goa

Day 8: Dudhsagar Falls

An entire day given over to one of India's tallest waterfalls, tucked deep inside the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and accessible mainly by jeep.

  • Jeep safari through the forest
  • Nature trails
  • Photography stops
  • Birdwatching
  • Swimming, weather and safety permitting

Head back to Goa once you have had your fill. Overnight: Goa

Day 9: Free Morning, Then Head Back

Use the morning however you like, spice markets, cashew stalls, souvenir hunting, or just one last walk on the beach. Depart for Delhi that evening, either by overnight train or flight.

Day 10: Back in Delhi

You land back in Delhi carrying a fairly ridiculous mix of memories, temple bells, city chaos, waterfalls and beach sunsets, all packed into ten days. That is really the appeal of a well-built Mumbai Goa Tour, it never lets any one part of the country dominate the whole trip.
